India-US Trade Deal Live Updates: US President Donald Trump has announced a cut in tariffs on Indian goods from 25 per cent to 18 per cent after speaking with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, signalling an easing of strained ties. PM Modi welcomed the move, saying "Made in India" products would now face lower tariffs and thanked Trump for the decision. The US President said the cut followed PM's request and reflected friendship and respect. Trump also said a long-pending India-US trade deal is now close, despite earlier disagreements, especially over agriculture.
