Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt appear in Saudi film 7 Dogs trailer; fans can't keep calm

The trailer of the upcoming Saudi action film 7 Dogs was unveiled on Tuesday, and it has already set social media buzzing, thanks to cameos by Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt.

Directed by Bad Boys for Life filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the film promises high-octane action, with Salman and Sanjay’s cameos emerging as major talking points.

While the makers have kept details of Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt’s roles under wraps, the promotional video makes it clear that these are far from blink-and-miss appearances. Salman, dressed in a sharp suit, flashing a sly grin says, "You know what he does? He documents his whole life." Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt cuts a menacing figure, gadget in hand, hinting at an impactful presence in the film. Soon we see Salman asking one of the bad guys: "Why do you look like a criminal to me?"

Unsurprisingly, Salman Khan’s fans were quick to flood social media with excited reactions. A fan commented in Arabic on Instagram, “All the enthusiasm for the most luxurious appearance ever of our beloved, the legend Salman Khan with the strongest Egypt stars Az Wakareem.” On YouTube, the comments section of the trailer was dominated by praise for the Bollywood star, with one user writing, “Here only for Salman Khan, eagerly waiting to watch him in a big screen (fire emoji) it’s superrrrrr (sic).”

7 Dogs stars Egyptian actors Karim Abdel-Aziz and Ahmed Ezz in the lead roles. It also stars Italian star Monica Bellucci. The film revolves around a mission to stop a deadly new drug that is rapidly spreading across the Middle East. The story has been penned by Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, who previously wrote the Saudi series The Eight. Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt shot for this film in February last year.

With international directors at the helm, a cross-country cast and surprise Bollywood cameos, 7 Dogs is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious action films to come out of the region. The film is slated for release later this year.
