Boy's face catches fire after risky reel stunt goes horribly wrong. Video goes viral
A boy suffered severe facial burns attempting a dangerous fire stunt for a social media reel, which sparked concerns over growing risks children faced due to viral video challenges.

A young boy attempted to recreate a dangerous fire stunt for a social media reel, only for the act to go horribly wrong as his face caught fire.
The disturbing incident received attention after it was shared by X handle The Nalanda Index, which issued a strong warning against the growing obsession with risky reel-making.
In the post, the user wrote, “Just watch where this reel-making madness is taking the world. First, people risked their lives in front of trains, on roads, and on bridges over rivers. Now they’ve started playing with fire and even children are being dragged into this insanity.”
The video attached to the post shows a young boy attempting a fire-related stunt inside what looks like a temporary indoor setup, possibly a function or gathering space. In the brief but alarming clip, he spits kerosene onto a lighter, and the flames suddenly flare up close to the boy's face. Adults nearby rush in as the situation spirals out of control, but the damage is already done.

The child’s face caught fire during the attempt. “Look at this child as fire caught his face,” the caption stated, adding grimly, “Those scars won’t disappear in a day or a month. He will live with them for life.” While exact details about the child’s injuries or medical condition were not shared, the visual itself was enough to spark concern among viewers.
The post did not mince words about the consequences of such stunts, concluding, “This is no ‘content.’ This is stupidity turning into lifelong punishment.” The message struck a sobering tone, especially as incidents involving dangerous reels and stunts continue to surface across social media platforms.
Over the past few years, authorities and safety experts have repeatedly cautioned against performing stunts involving fire, moving vehicles, or hazardous environments for social media fame. This incident adds to a growing list of cases where the pursuit of virality has resulted in serious injury, and in some cases, loss of life.
