Xiaomi

Xiaomi is a Chinese multinational electronics company which was founded in the year 2010. It is headquartered in Beijing. It deals and invests in smartphones, mobile apps, laptops, home appliances, consumer electronics, and many other products. In the year 2014, the company announced its business expansion outside China, with its first international headquarters in Singapore. Next year later, the multinational company released its first smartphone in August 2011 gaining strong market share in China and became the country’s largest smartphone company by 2014.

Xiaomi decided to expand its business further to international markets which include Greater China, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Russia, South Africa and most countries and regions in Southeast Asia and Europe and also India.

It operates on a vertically integrated model that enables the company to sell hardware at cost or below in order to attract users and earn money by selling content. Xiaomi also has a sub-brand named POCO under its flagship. This announcement was made in August 2018 that POCO will be a mid-range smartphone line. It sooner became a separate sub-brand of Xiaomi on 17 January 2020 with entry-level and mid-range devices, while Xiaomi itself produces upper-range and flagship Mi phones.

All the POCO phones use the Xiaomi MIUI user interface on top of Android.
