Baba Siddique

Baba Siddique was an Indian politician and a notable face from Mumbai. He was born on September 13, 1958, and had a long-standing career in the Indian National Congress (INC) before he switched to the Ajit Pawar's faction of the Nationalist Congress Pary. 

He represented the Bandra constituency as an MLA for several terms and was well-known for hosting grand iftar parties that brought together political and Bollywood elites. He is also remembered for playing a key role in reconciling Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in 2013.

Siddique was tragically shot dead on October 12, 2024, in a shocking incident that shook the political landscape. Siddique was 66 at the time of his death.

Mumbai police on Sunday said they have arrested the shooter and two others in NCP leader Baba Siddique murder case from Uttar Pradesh. The shooter Shivakumar and two others were arrested in a joint operation with STF of UP police, an official said. The three are being brought to Mumbai, he said. Siddique was shot dead on October 12 by three assailants outside his son MLA Zeeshan Siddique's office building in Bandra East. He sustained two bullet injuries on his chest and was rushed to the Lilavati hospital in Mumbai, where he passed away.
