Bill Gates, Russian girl, case of STD, and a closer look at Epstein emails casting shadow on tech biggies
It looks like no one in the world who is somebody has remained untouched by Jeffrey Epstein. His latest emails released by the US government show that Epstein was also quite pally with a number of tech biggies, including Bill Gates who is mentioned in the emails alongside a Russian prostitute and a case of STD.

On Friday, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) released new documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and this seemed to have opened a pandora's box. At least that is the impression one gets from all the chatter and news around the latest trove of these emails. So extensive was Epstein’s network and reach that now it is casting a shadow on many of tech biggies. From Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates to Tesla boss Elon Musk, and even Google cofounder Sergey Brin, major tech leaders seem to have had some sort of a connection with Epstein.
Most of the people who have been named in these documents seem to have gone into damage control mode, including Elon Musk. But the information in these files seems interesting and alarming at the same time. What are the biggest names in the world of tech accused of when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein? Let’s delve in.
Bill Gates may have got an STD from a Russian girl
Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates is arguably the one facing the most heat after the release of new Epstein files and emails. In notes drafted by Epstein in 2013, allegations surfaced suggesting Bill Gates engaged in extramarital sex and encounters involving Russian women.
In one note, Jeffrey Epstein wrote that he helped Gates acquire drugs “in order to deal with consequences of sex with Russian girls.” Though it does not explicitly mention that the Microsoft cofounder got a sexually transmitted disease (STD) from this alleged encounter. Additionally, Epstein also claims to have helped Gates meet married women.
It remains unclear whether Epstein sent these emails to Gates. According to the released files, Epstein authored the messages not long after a failed attempt to broker a partnership between the Gates Foundation and JPMorgan Chase, which would have potentially benefited him financially.
The Gates Foundation has pushed back, stating the claims are "absolutely absurd and completely false" and reflect Epstein's frustration over lacking an ongoing relationship with Gates.
Cofounders of Google, PayPal and LinkedIn all named in Epstein files
Bill Gates is not the only one who is facing allegations after being named in the Epstein files. Google cofounder Sergey Brin is another prominent name in the documents. As per the documents, Brin apparently visited Epstein’s private island, and met with Ghislaine Maxwell, a close friend of Jeffrey Epstein. Maxwell wrote to Brin in 2003, "Dinners at Jeffreys are always happily casual and relaxed. Look forward to seeing you." Other records indicate Brin also planned dinners at Epstein’s Upper East Side home and that their introduction helped JPMorgan secure Brin as a client.
PayPal’s cofounder Peter Thiel, another big name in Silicon Valley, is also said to have shared messages with Jeffrey Epstein. In one email to Thiel, Epstein wrote, "that was fun, see you in 3 weeks."
Another email from 2018 details Epstein inviting Peter Thiel to his private island. Though, Thiel told Politico that he never visited the island. The PayPal cofounder insists that his relationship with the convicted sex offender was focused on discussions around potential investments.
Reid Hoffman, LinkedIn co-founder, is also listed in DOJ’s recent documents. According to the New York Post, the documents reveal memos that reference to Hoffman’s potential visits to Epstein’s properties, including his private island, as well as his Manhattan townhouse, and a New Mexico ranch. There is also detailed travel information, including a time when Hoffman lost his passport.
Epstein seemingly informed Reid Hoffman’s assistant, Saida Sapieva, that he found the passport inside a gift bag. Hoffman has since apologised for his involvement.
The documents also reference Steven Sinofsky, a former senior executive at Microsoft. Emails show Sinofsky sought Epstein's advice on his 2012 departure from Microsoft and subsequent career moves. Sinofsky wrote, "I gotta sleep...but advise me or tell me who to advise me?” Three months after leaving Microsoft, he told Epstein, "Got paid. You will be too :)”. To this Epstein replied, "Good going." Sinofsky seemingly often looked for advice from Epstein, including before a meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook.
The curious case of Elon Musk
Elon Musk has been one of the fiercest advocates for the release of the Epstein files. However, he has found himself in controversy after documents revealed that he was in discussion to make a potential visit to Epstein’s island.
However, Musk has claimed that he never visited the island or took a trip on Epstein’s private jet, dubbed Lolita Express. The tech billionaire insists that he is willing to face accusations as long as it helps protect those who may have been abused.
