Large parts of India are expected to see stable but seasonally cold weather conditions over the next 24 hours, with limited rainfall activity and patchy fog in several regions.

At present, cloud cover is visible over parts of north and central India, while southern India also has some clouds.

However, the chances of rainfall remain very low. Isolated light rain may occur only in a few pockets of western Uttar Pradesh, eastern Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and some northern hill regions, according to Devendra Tripathi, founder of Mausam Tak and weather expert for Kisan Tak.

Another western disturbance is forecast to arrive on February 5, followed by yet another around February 8. These systems may once again bring changes in weather conditions over both hilly areas and adjoining plains, though no major activity is expected immediately.

For February 4, shallow to moderate morning fog is likely in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and isolated areas of Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. The fog is expected to clear later in the day as north-westerly winds pick up speed, leading to clearer skies and bright sunshine.

From Gujarat and Maharashtra up through Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, and further east across Raipur, Bhubaneswar, Dhanbad, Ranchi, Patna, and even parts of Punjab, north-westerly winds will dominate. These winds are likely to cause a slight chill during nights and early mornings, while daytime temperatures may rise under clear skies.

Despite strong sunshine during the day, the presence of cold winds will keep the weather feeling cool rather than hot, reducing the harshness of the sun in many places.

In southern India, especially along coastal regions, scattered cloudiness may persist, with light rainfall possible at isolated locations. However, overall weather activity across the country is expected to remain largely subdued over the next 24 hours.

Devendra noted that no major weather system is currently active across India, and conditions are expected to remain mostly calm until the next western disturbance begins to influence the region later this week.
