TDP MP recounts Lok Sabha chaos as opposition MPs threw papers at Chair
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Krishna Prasad Tenneti, who was presiding over the House during a period of intense disruption, recounts opposition MPs' behaviour.
As Dhanteras arrives, gold and silver prices are shining brighter than ever. Gold has reached a new record above $4,300 an ounce, marking its best week in five years. Silver, too has hit a fresh high of $54.35 per ounce before settling slightly lower at $53.86.
The rally has been fuelled by global trade tensions, rate cut expectations, and fears over the US economy, leading investors to flock to safe-haven assets.
In India, gold prices have crossed Rs 1,30,000 per 10 grams, while silver has nearly doubled compared to last Diwali. “This is a very auspicious time, and we have already seen both gold and silver touching record highs. However, this type of bull run was not expected. Every factor like geopolitical tension, interest rates, and recession fears has come together, pushing prices up sharply,” said Ajay Kedia, Managing Director and Director at Kedia Advisory.
Kedia warned that while the rally may continue, investors should remain cautious. “Silver might go up to $72, but there is a slight risk now. A short squeeze in silver may ease after Diwali,” he said.
He added that silver’s rising industrial use and limited supply are supporting prices. “Silver is the poor man’s gold, and demand from green energy and electric vehicles has grown. But since prices have already doubled in the past year, this may not be the right time to enter,” Kedia advised.
