US President Donald Trump criticised Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime performance, describing it as 'terrible' and 'one of the worst ever' in the event's history. The comments came after the show at Levi's Stadium, where Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny aimed to promote unity through his performance. Trump's remarks, posted on Truth Social, have sparked discussion about the cultural and political significance of the halftime show.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, "The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence (sic)." He further criticised the content and style of the performance, adding to debate regarding the appropriateness of the event's entertainment.

Bad Bunny's performance was historic as he is the first Latin artiste to perform at the Super Bowl. He named all the Latin countries in his performance.

Trump continued, "Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World (sic)."

His comments reflected criticism from some segments over Super Bowl halftime acts that feature non-English performances. "This 'Show' is just a 'slap in the face' to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day - including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History! (sic)," he said.

Prior to the event, it was reported that Trump's administration had indicated the President would not be watching Bad Bunny's performance at the stadium. The choice of artist had drawn attention even before the halftime show, given public discussion about Bad Bunny's music and previous statements on political issues and against ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).

Trump, in his note, called the Super Bowl show a mess, and wrote, "There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD - and, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule (sic)."

He ended his message with, "Make America Great Again."

The performance also faced criticism from some of Trump's allies. Laura Loomer, a longtime supporter of the president, objected to the display of foreign flags during the show, claiming there was nothing 'American' about it.

Bad Bunny's selection has already generated discussion, with some noting that most of his songs are not in English. The singer's recent comments at the Grammy Awards and his stance on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have also contributed to the conversation surrounding the performance.
