Prakash Raj removed from Sandeep Vanga's Spirit due to heated argument: Report
Reports suggest actor Prakash Raj is no longer part of the upcoming film Spirit due to disagreements with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, leading to speculation about changes in the cast and production schedule.

Actor Prakash Raj has reportedly been removed from the cast of the upcoming film, Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas. The production continues in Hyderabad, with anticipation surrounding the high-profile action drama. Sources within the industry cite creative disagreements as the main reason behind the departure, though there has been no official confirmation from the filmmakers.
From the start, Spirit drew attention for assembling a notable cast, with Prakash Raj’s involvement generating interest after his appearance in the launch video. However, industry reports indicate a fallout between the actor and director after the two had a heated disagreement on the sets over the film's script and a particular scene.
Tensions on set reportedly escalated over the direction of the script. According to sources quoted by OTTPlay, "It is also being said that Prakash Raj’s behaviour during a few instances did not go down well with the makers, prompting them to take the drastic decision of removing him from the film."
Prakash Raj's exit from Spirit is viewed by some as a significant production shift, especially as he held a key role in the film’s early promotions.
The film has experienced other cast changes. Earlier, Deepika Padukone exited the project over scheduling conflicts. "Reports suggested that Deepika demanded eight-hour shifts, which the director was unwilling to accommodate." She was later replaced by Triptii Dimri.
With Prakash Raj’s departure, production sources note, "it is now being said that a few scenes already shot with him may have to be scrapped, potentially leading to delays in the shoot."
Despite these changes, the production remains underway. Prabhas continues to lead the project, with Triptii Dimri as the female lead and Vivek Oberoi cast as the main antagonist. The film is described as an action drama centred on Prabhas's character, a dedicated police officer.
Spirit, one of the most anticipated films in Indian cinema, is expected to hit theatres in March 2027.
