Netflix has surprised movie enthusiasts with the first teaser of The Adventures of Cliff Booth, marking Brad Pitt's return as the iconic stuntman from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The retro-styled preview, released during Super Bowl Sunday, promises a thrilling 1970s journey with a blend of classic rock, humour and vintage Hollywood charm.

Super Bowl Sunday came with an unexpected Hollywood surprise for movie buffs. Netflix dropped the first teaser of The Adventures of Cliff Booth, bringing Brad Pitt back as the laid-back stuntman from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and instantly sending fans into a frenzy.
Released during the big game, the teaser offers a slick, retro-tinged glimpse into Cliff Booth’s next chapter. Set to classic rock-inspired beats and drenched in old-school Hollywood flair, the preview hints at a globe of sun-soaked bars, film sets and fast cars – with Booth still moving through it all with effortless cool.
The teaser shows Pitt’s Booth nursing a drink at a bar, navigating a bustling film set and cruising in a derby car. He is joined by new characters played by Elizabeth Debicki and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, both styled in vintage costumes that fit seamlessly into the film’s 1970s setting. Adding a playful edge, shots featuring nudity, cigarettes, obscene gestures and guns are cheekily censored, injecting humour into the brief clip.
One moment that stood out for fans was Cliff Booth placing an Oscar statuette on his desk – a tongue-in-cheek nod to Brad Pitt’s first acting Academy Award, which he won for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film famously rewrote history by imagining Booth and actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) thwarting the Manson family murders. While DiCaprio does not return for the sequel, The Adventures of Cliff Booth continues the story in the 1970s, focusing squarely on Pitt’s character.
The film boasts an expanded ensemble cast, including Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Holt McCallany and JB Tadena. Timothy Olyphant reprises his role as James Stacy from the original film.
Directed by David Fincher and written by Tarantino, the project brings together two of Hollywood’s most distinctive voices. Tarantino, who also serves as a producer alongside Pitt, David Heyman, Cen Chaffin and Stacey Sher, chose not to direct as he concentrates on his long-anticipated tenth and final film.
Erik Messerschmidt, Fincher’s frequent collaborator, serves as director of photography, while principal photography took place across Los Angeles. The film also marks another chapter in Fincher’s ongoing collaboration with Netflix, following projects such as Mindhunter, Mank and The Killer.
