BOX OFFICE SUCCESS OF SAIYAARA

Originally released in July 2025, Saiyaara quickly established itself as a major hit, grossing Rs 577 crore worldwide. The film became the second-highest-grossing Indian film of the year and holds the distinction of being the highest-grossing romantic film in Indian cinema history.

CAST AND BREAKTHROUGH ROLES

The movie features newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in lead roles. Saiyaara marked Ahaan Panday’s Bollywood debut while also providing Aneet Padda, previously seen in Salaam Venky, her first experience as the leading actor in a major production.

PLOT AND AUDIENCE RECEPTION

The story follows Krish, a struggling musician, and Vaani Batra, an aspiring journalist and poet, charting their journey through love, ambition, and personal growth. This narrative resonated with young audiences and sparked emotional reactions, including viral fan edits and packed cinemas throughout its run.

AHAAN AND ANEET's RISE TO STARDOM

Ahaan’s rapid ascent to stardom was marked by intense public attention, as described by his mother, Deanne. Speaking about the sudden fame with The Nod, Deanne shared. “Within days of the film's release, our lives changed completely. There were photographers outside our house daily. We’re a very low-key family — my husband doesn’t even attend industry events. Suddenly, privacy disappeared.”

The film’s impact extended beyond the box office, prompting a surge of fan mail for the Panday family. Deanne noted, “Fans range from children to people in their eighties,” and described how “many letters talk about how the film or Ahaan made them feel seen or hopeful. It’s incredibly moving.”

However, the family also experienced unsettling moments, including one instance where a fan sent a letter written in blood. “We once received a letter written in blood. It was very disturbing.” In response, the family reached out to the fan directly, stating, “We told them this isn’t healthy or safe. Ahaan would never want anyone to hurt themselves for him.”

In a recent interview with Grazia India, Aneet said, “I’m very sensitive. I feel things deeply. So, the responsibility of love, that weight of wanting to do right by the people who support you, that can feel pressurising. It’s beautiful, but sometimes, it is a lot.”

“I cry once a week, looking at the edits my fans make. The effort, the love, I just hope I can do justice to it,” she added.

NAVIGATING FAME AFTER SAIYAARA

After Saiyaara, Ahaan is working with Ali Abbas Zafar for an action entertainer. Aneet, on the other hand, will be seen in the horror-comedy film Shakti Shalini. The film also stars Vishal Jethwa.
