Rani Mukerji’s return to the big screen in the action drama Mardaani 3 has yielded strong box office results, with the film crossing the 30 crore mark in India nett collections within nine days of its release. According to Sacnilk website, the film earned Rs 2.75 crore India nett on its ninth day, bringing the total collection to Rs 30.90 crore. This performance places the film close to the lifetime box office earnings of the original Mardaani from 2014, which had a net collection of Rs 35.65 crore in India.

During its run, Mardaani 3 has faced competition at the ticket windows, notably clashing with the war drama Border 2. Despite this, the film has managed to maintain a steady audience in theatres, finishing its first week with a net collection of Rs 26.3 crore. The second week opened with Rs 1.85 crore on Friday and saw a jump to Rs 2.75 crore on Saturday, reflecting sustained interest.

The franchise’s previous installment, Mardaani 2, remains its highest-grossing entry with Rs 47.35 crore, while Rani Mukerji’s top box office grosser is Talaash, which earned Rs 93.61 crore. Mardaani 3 is now Rani’s second-highest earning solo film at the box office.

Mardaani 3 is the third chapter in a series recognised as one of Hindi cinema’s most successful solo female-led franchises. Continuing the story of fearless police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy, Mukerji’s character is featured in what is described as a "dark, deadly and brutal chapter" in the series.

The film’s earnings are notable as it heads into a competitive period with the release of Shahid Kapoor’s O Romeo and the Hollywood adaptation of Wuthering Heights, both expected to challenge its box office run during the Valentine’s Day weekend.
