The upcoming horror comedy Bhooth Bangla, led by Akshay Kumar and Tabu, is now confirmed to release in theatres a month earlier than expected. This update comes after earlier announcements indicated different release dates. The confirmation was made through official channels, and a new promotional video was shared by the production team.
The film’s most recent scheduling has been clarified by Balaji Motion Pictures. The latest video shared by the makers showed a cat scratching off May 15 from a calendar. It then licked milk off April 10. The posts resolved prior confusion about the film’s release timeline, cementing an April premiere for audiences.
BHOOTH BANGLA PRODUCTION TEAM
Production on Bhooth Bangla is being overseen by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms, in association with Akshay Kumar's Cape of Good Films. The project also involves co-producers Faara Sheikh and Vedant Baali. The story is credited to Akash A Kaushik, with a screenplay by Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair, and Priyadarshan, and dialogues by Rohan Shankar.
CAST REUNION
Bhooth Bangla brings together Akshay and Tabu after a 25-year hiatus. The duo previously worked together on films like Hera Pheri and Tu Chor Main Sipahi. Their reunion, under the direction of Priyadarshan, has drawn attention due to the legacy of their past collaborations and the genre’s growing popularity.
ASRANI’S SIGNIFICANT ROLE
Director Priyadarshan earlier spoke about the involvement of the late actor Asrani, who plays a significant role in the film.
In an exclusive chat with India Today, Priyadarshan said, “He was in my last two films, Bhooth Bangla and Haiwaan. He is playing a very big role in both films. I wrapped up Bhoot Bangla earlier, and he was not working for a long time before that film. So he told me, 'Nobody calls me. Thank you for calling me.' These are also his last films, and we shot both over just six months. So we actually spent a lot of time together,” the director said.
EXPECTATIONS FOR THE UPCOMING HORROR COMEDY
Bhooth Bangla was previously slated for an April 2 release. It was then shifted to May 15. Now the makers have confirmed that the film will release in theatres on April 10.
