After moving the Supreme Court over the high court’s decision, Rajasthan Assembly Speaker CP Joshi has said there is a constitutional crisis in the state as his rights as a Speaker are being infringed.
Speaking to India Today TV in an interview after filing plea in the Supreme Court, Speaker CP Joshi said, “The Speaker can very well issue showcause notices to MLAs based on a complaint. The notices that I issued to the MLAs were well within my rights as the Speaker.”
“The court cannot intervene unless an MLA has been disqualified but here it passed an order even before I acted against the MLAs. I had just issued showcause notices,” said Speaker Joshi, while explaining his decision to move the Supreme Court.
