Bail plea order of Rana couple likely to be out today

The bail plea order of the Rana couple is likely to be out today. The police had booked MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana for sedition and promoting enmity between two groups.

On Saturday, the bail hearing of the Ranas turned into a heated face-off between the defence and the public prosecutor. The Ranas also argued that giving a call to chant Hanuman Chalisa outside a mosque, could have fanned religious tensions, but giving a call to chant it outside 'Matoshree' doesn't fan any communal tension.

Meanwhile, representing the police, SPP Pradeep Gharat countered advocate Ponda's argument saying that taking the consent of the person outside whose residence the act of chanting is done is important.
