Inmate Abdul Rahman murdered in Neemka Jail; Arun Chaudhary accused in fatal attack
Terrorist Abdul Rahman was found murdered inside Faridabad's Neemka Jail after a head injury. Fellow inmate Arun Chaudhary of the Rohit Godara gang is the prime accused, with gang member Mahendra Delana publicly claiming and praising the killing on social media.

Terrorist Abdul Rahman, lodged in Faridabad’s Neemka Jail, was found murdered late Sunday night after sustaining a fatal head injury, with a fellow inmate linked to the Rohit Godara gang emerging as the prime accused, police said.
The accused has been identified as Arun Chaudhary, who was recently transferred to the jail from Jammu and Kashmir.
Soon after the killing, a member of the Rohit Godara gang appeared to claim responsibility on social media, publicly endorsing the attack and praising Chaudhary.
The post, attributed to Mahendra Delana, congratulated the accused and framed the murder as an act against terrorism. In a statement circulated online, Delana wrote that Rahman’s killing was justified and warned that “this will be the fate of anyone who goes against the country.”
“Brothers, Abdul Rahman was killed last night in Faridabad jail. He was a terrorist and was involved in planning an attack on the Ram Mandir. When he was caught in Faridabad, two grenades were found with him, and he was involved in several terrorist activities against the country. Brother Arun Chaudhary has brought him to his end, and we thank him from the bottom of our hearts. Heartfelt salute to brother Arun Chaudhary”, Delana wrote.
Law enforcement agencies are examining the post and assessing possible charges related to glorification of violence and criminal conspiracy.
According to prison and police sources, Rahman suffered severe head injuries after being attacked with a sharp object.
Jail staff alerted authorities, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination at the civil hospital.
Police have launched a detailed investigation to determine how the weapon was procured and whether there were lapses in jail security or supervision.
ABDUL RAHMAN ARRESTED LAST YEAR
Abdul Rahman, 20, had been jailed since March 2, 2025, after being arrested on terrorism-related charges.
He was apprehended by the Haryana Special Task Force in a joint operation with the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad and the Intelligence Bureau.
At the time of his arrest, two hand grenades were recovered from his possession, which were later defused by a bomb disposal squad.
Investigators had alleged that Rahman was planning a terror attack in Ayodhya and had conducted reconnaissance related to the Ram Temple.
Police also recovered several videos and digital material from him containing sensitive details linked to the site.
Rahman was a resident of Milkipur in Uttar Pradesh and was found to be in contact with Abu Sufiyan, a known terrorist associated with Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS).
According to police sources, Abu Sufiyan had coordinated with handlers to conceal grenades and detonators in a field near Bans Road, instructing Rahman to retrieve them.
Rahman’s online activities had drawn the attention of intelligence agencies, with officials stating that he had uploaded provocative and inflammatory videos for nearly 18 months across platforms including TikTok and Instagram.
Repeated takedowns of his accounts eventually put him on the radar of multiple state and central agencies.
The murder has raised serious questions about security arrangements for high-risk inmates inside Neemka Jail.
Authorities are reviewing the circumstances of Chaudhary’s transfer, internal monitoring protocols, and possible gang influence within the prison.
Police said the probe is ongoing and further details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
