Bengaluru man crashes car to kill friend after spat, dashcam captures horror
The dispute, which reportedly escalated after the two had been drinking, turned fatal when the victim tried to stop the vehicle by holding onto its door, with the driver allegedly crashing into a tree while driving rashly.

A 28-year-old man died after allegedly hanging off his friend’s moving car following a violent altercation after a cricket tournament in Bengaluru, police said. The dispute, which reportedly escalated after the two had been drinking, turned fatal when the victim tried to stop the car by holding onto its door, with the friend deliberately crashing the vehicle on to a tree.
The incident that occurred on Sunday night, was captured on the vehicle's dashcam. The victim was identified as Prashanth, a resident of Hebbagodi, while his friend, Roshan Hegde, a 27-year-old IT professional at an auto company, was behind the wheel.
Police said the dispute began after their cricket team lost a local tournament and did not end at the ground. According to officials, the argument continued later in the evening as the two consumed alcohol and were driving around in Roshan's SUV.
Police said the situation took a critical turn when Prashanth attempted to leave in his car. With the intention of killing his friend, Roshan drove the vehicle at high speed while Prashanth was still standing on the footrest, trying to stop him.
Roshan then deliberately crashed on to a tree.
Due to the force of the impact, Prashanth sustained grievous injuries to his head and chest. He was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Roshan also sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
Immediately after a murder case was registered, the police arrested Roshan and also seized his vehicle.
