Karishma Saurabh Kalita

Karishma Saurabh Kalita is part of the news desk at India Today. Born in Assam and raised in Shillong, she carries the sensibilities of the Northeast while thriving in Delhi, where she has been part of the media industry since 2010. With a BA in Media Technologies, Karishma has spent over a decade covering both national and international stories, with a particular passion for foreign politics.

Away from the newsroom, Karishma’s world is a mix of music and food. A self-confessed music buff, her mornings are incomplete without Led Zeppelin, Nine Inch Nails, or Bonobo setting the tone for the day. She’s also an amateur baker with a knack for creating the perfect lemon cake — a favourite among friends and family.

Fluent in English, Assamese, and Hindi, and comfortable with Nagamese and Bengali, Karishma moves with ease across languages and cultures.
