According to the complaint, Azgar Khan, a resident of RT Nagar, works as an autorickshaw driver. He told police that he has habits of smoking and consuming alcohol and claimed that his income was insufficient to meet his expenses. He admitted that, due to this, he allegedly began stealing scrap materials along with two acquaintances, Razaq and Shyam, and selling them to scrap dealers to buy alcohol.

As per the police complaint, on January 31, 2026, at around 9:30 pm, Azgar Khan, along with Razaq and Shyam, went in his autorickshaw to a house located opposite Provident Apartments on Chokkanahalli Main Road. Khan climbed the compound wall of the house and attempted to steal electrical items kept inside the premises.

The FIR says that when a man and a woman from the house came out and questioned him, Khan allegedly assaulted them with his hands and called Razaq and Shyam, who were waiting outside in the autorickshaw. “All three together assaulted the man and woman with their hands,” the complaint said.

During the scuffle, Razaq allegedly hit the man on the head with a beer bottle, causing injuries. Pieces of broken glass from the bottle also struck the woman on her cheek, injuring her. When the woman raised an alarm, neighbours began gathering at the spot, following which Razaq and Shyam fled from the scene in the autorickshaw.

The complaint further said that during the chaos, one of the people who had gathered at the scene struck Azgar Khan on the head with a piece of wood, causing a bleeding injury. Khan later received medical treatment at a hospital.

In the FIR, the complainant sought identification of the persons who allegedly assaulted him and requested appropriate legal action. Police said they are investigating the case based on the complaint and the sequence of events mentioned in the FIR.
