Kia Carens Clavis long term review | 3,100km report
The Kia Carens Clavis has completed its third month in Auto Today's long-term fleet, and in this report, we focus on the experience from the MPV's second and third rows.

Month three with the Carens Clavis has shifted our attention rearwards, away from the turbo-dad’s cockpit and into the part of the car that actually determines domestic harmony: the second and third rows. Because no matter how heroic the gearshift feels, peace at home is ultimately negotiated in millimetres of knee room and the strategic placement of USB ports.
Start with the second row, where the Carens Clavis makes its strongest case quietly. The captain seats are generously proportioned, set at a height that makes both ingress and long stints agreeable, and offer ample knee and foot room even with the front seats pushed back for a taller driver. The backrest angle is well judged, and the cushioning strikes that rare balance between supportive and sofa-soft. Rear AC vents with dedicated controls mean temperature arguments are largely theoretical, while multiple charging points ensure no device ever runs out of excuses.
The third row, traditionally an MPV’s confession booth, fares better than expected. Access is easy enough thanks to a one-touch tumble mechanism, and once inside, the space feels usable rather than apologetic. Adults will tolerate short to medium journeys without resentment, while children will find it perfectly hospitable. Headroom is decent, knee room is workable, and crucially, the large windows prevent that claustrophobic, banishment-to-the-back sensation. Cupholders, phone slots and AC vents complete the sense that this is a seat, not a punishment.
