Watch| Why is it unlikely for Titan submersible to survive

While an international team of rescuers has been deployed to search for the Titan, the distress area is that of an ocean larger than Connecticut being surveyed by aircraft from the United States and Canada and sonar buoys are pinging the depths. 

The structure of the missing vessel, Titan, is also being questioned. It is made of carbon fiber and Titanium, and is engineered to reach depths of more than 13,000 feet, or more than two miles. 

At around 3,800 m below where the Titanic’s wreckage is present, one can expect an atmospheric pressure of about 380 times greater than on land.
