France's sixth day of unrest: Rioters target Mayor's home, ransack shops

Amidst the ongoing turmoil sparked by the police killing of a teenager, young rioters clashed with police throughout the night of June 2, culminating in a targeted attack on a mayor's home.

The destructive spree witnessed 577 vehicles and 74 buildings set ablaze, with 871 fires reported on public roads.

The 17-year-old, whose tragic death on June 27 triggered the outburst of anger, was laid to rest in a Muslim ceremony on Saturday in Nanterre, a suburb of Paris. Emotions surrounding his loss remain raw, as he is publicly identified only by his first name, Nahel.

On Sunday, clashes between protesters and police persisted in central Paris, where a significant police presence was maintained.
