Former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar has said the BCCI has done the right thing by postponing the IPL 2020 till April 15 in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Gavaskar also appreciated BCCI for calling off the India-South Africa ODI series and said no player would have liked to play the matches in front of empty stands.
"No player, no artist like to play in front of empty stands. So clearly it is important for the player to be charged up to have a crowd. If that is not there I do not think it makes any sense to have a tournament. That should be absolutely the last option that should be there. And I think at this time when we are reading how this virus is spreading, this is the most correct step that the BCCI has taken," Gavaskar told India Today.
