Rare Total Solar Eclipse: April event won't repeat for 126 years

A total solar eclipse, a celestial phenomenon where the Moon passes directly between the Earth and the Sun, completely obscuring the Sun's face, is set to captivate observers in North America on April 8.

This event will plunge viewers within its path of totality into daytime darkness, allowing the Sun's corona to be visible—a sight otherwise hidden by the Sun's bright surface.

The last such spectacle graced the US coast to coast on August 21, 2017.
