The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Maharashtra has been facing wrath from not just its Opposition but also from its ally Shiv Sena over the trees being fell in Aarey Colony in Mumbai.
Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray had called the government "murderers of trees", while his son Aaditya Thackeray said that it is not about "BJP Vs Shiv Sena", but it is the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) who is responsible for the tree-felling in the area.
