Marco Rubio to meet Pak Minister Ishaq Dar; Maldives minister lauds India

The move draws attention due to Dar's past defence of the TRF at the UN and in Pakistan’s Parliament, prompting scrutiny over the U.S.'s evolving stance on terrorism and regional diplomacy.

Maldivian Minister Abdulla Shahid emphasised the need to reset ties with India, acknowledging New Delhi's consistent support during crises. "Whenever we dial the international 911, India responds first," the minister noted, highlighting India's role as the first responder in emergencies. Despite recent diplomatic strains, the minister praised the generosity of the Indian people and the enduring strength of people-to-people ties rooted in shared geography and history.
