Karnataka crisis comes to an end as Kumaraswamy loses trust vote, Cong-JDS govt falls
The Congress-Janata Dal Secular coalition government headed by Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy collapsed on Tuesday evening after losing the trust vote in the Assembly.
Soon after the coalition managed to bag 99 votes and lost to BJP, as it won 105 votes, 59-year-old Kumaraswamy submitted his resignation letter to Governor Vajubhai Vala.
Earlier in the day, the JDS leader had said, "I am ready to happily sacrifice this position. My political entry itself was all of a sudden and unexpected. I apologise to the Speaker and the people of the state."
