Sajjan Kumar convicted, but will other conspirators be brought to justice?

Terming the conviction of Congress leader Sajjan Singh in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case a "moral defeat" for the party, the DSGMC said Congress chief Rahul Gandhi should expel Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and party leader Jagdish Tytler.

The Delhi High Court sentenced Kumar for conspiracy to commit murder and sentenced him to imprisonment for life.

The riots, in which thousands of Sikhs were killed, broke out after the assassination of then prime minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards on October 31, 1984.
