Rains wreak havoc in Mumbai, BMC negligence exposed, communal tension in Delhi, more

Heavy incessant rains have paralysed the financial capital bringing the entire city to a halt. At least 35 people have been killed in rain-related accidents in Mumbai. While the BMC is under harsh criticism over the mismanagement, Shiv Sena doesn't seem to find it at fault. India Today accessed a report by the Comptroller and Auditor General which slams the municipal body for unpreparedness.

In other news, a fresh political rift has erupted between PM Modi and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee after the Centre warned the state that their madrassas are being used as terror breeding grounds.
