The Karnataka political crisis has further deepened with the assembly numbers now tilting in BJP's favour. On Monday, 30 ministers -- 21 from JD(S) and nine from Congress -- quit the government allowing HD Kumaraswamy to reshuffle the cabinet and accommodate the rebel MLAs.
With the resignations pouring in, the Congress's current strength in the assembly is at 68 and the strength of JD(S) has come down to 34. The BJP, which claims that it has the support of two independents, is now at a total of 107 in the state assembly.
The total strength of the assembly is now 211 after the resignations, bringing the majority mark to 106.
