In a development in the Karnataka MLAs mass resignation crisis, multiple meetings will be held today by both Congress and JD(S) in a bid to contain the situation and save the Karnataka government from being toppled. 13 MLAs submitted their resignations from the membership of the state Assembly on Saturday.
In other news, the resignation spree in Congress followed by Rahul Gandhi's resignation as Congress president has added to the party's problems. Congress's two strong faces, Milind Deora and Jyotiraditya Scindia have quit from their party posts. While Deora was Mumbai Congress chief, Scindia was holding the charge of general secretary for UP west.
