Star candidates flood 2019 elections: Are celebrities superior to netas?

Days after former cricketer Gautam Gambhir joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Bollywood star Sunny Deol joined the saffron party on Tuesday in Delhi, in the presence of Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Piyush Goyal.

Deol is not the only celebrity to have joined a political party this Lok Sabha elections. Apart from Deol, singer Hans Raj Hans too have joined the BJP, where as Urmila Matondkar and star pugilist Vijender Singh have joined the Congress party.
