WATCH: Ram Gopal Varma in trouble over controversial Women's Day tweet

Ram Gopal Varma finds himself in the middle of controversy yet again for his purported misogynist tweet involving pornstar-turned-Bollywood actor Sunny Leone.

On Women's Day i.e March 9, RGV tweeted "I wish all women in the world give men as much happiness as Sunny Leone gives."

This questionable remark elicited bitter responses, especially from politicians such as NCP's Jitendra Awhad and Vidya Chavan. The latter threatened to beat up Ram Gopal Varma with slippers.

Even BJP MLA Ram Kadam has threatened the director that he will not be allowed to shoot his films in Mumbai if he does not apologise for his controversial Women's Day tweet.

Interestingly, Sunny Leone took Varma's comments on a light note and did not make much of the issue.

Ram Gopal Varma is back in the director's chair, meanwhile, and his film Sarkar 3 starring Amitabh Bachchan will release in theatres across India on April 7.
