Parasuram is known for blending commercial storytelling with socially rooted themes. He first gained attention with Yuvatha and Anjaneyulu, before achieving wider recognition with Geetha Govindam, the romantic drama starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, which became a major box-office success. He later directed Sarkaru Vaari Paata, starring Mahesh Babu, and The Family Star with Vijay Deverakonda, which received a mixed-to-negative response despite high expectations.

Earlier, there were speculations that Suriya might collaborate with directors Nahas Hidayath or Pandiraj once his ongoing projects are over. With Parasuram now entering the conversation, the actor’s future line-up appears to be expanding, though most of these projects are yet to be officially announced.

Suriya was last seen in Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The film also featured Pooja Hegde, Joju George and Jayaram in key roles.
