Actor Asha Sarath promises twist-filled climax in Mohanlal's Drishyam 3
Actor Asha Sarath, who returns as IG Geetha Prabhakar in Drishyam 3, says the third instalment will leave audiences stunned as it brings the Georgekutty saga to a close.
The much-awaited Malayalam franchise film, Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal, is set to release in theatres on April 2. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the film is expected to end the series, with Asha Sarath adding to the excitement by calling it an edge-of-the-seat experience.
Actor Asha Sarath, who reprises her role as IG Geetha Prabhakar, recently spoke about the film during an interaction with Club FM. When asked whether the third instalment would feature a climax similar to those in the earlier films, she hinted at another major twist. “Of course. We are all supposed to be stunned by it, right? It is the kind of film that makes us sit on the edge of our seats,” she said.
Asha added that she was happy after completing the film and believes audiences will understand the impact only when it releases. She also noted that the film is expected to generate excitement, much like its predecessors.
The Drishyam series follows Georgekutty, a middle-class man whose life takes a drastic turn when his family becomes entangled in a missing person case involving Varun Prabhakar, the son of a senior police officer. The films explore how Georgekutty navigates the investigation and protects his family while staying ahead of the law.
The second instalment, released in 2021 on Prime Video, continued the story and expanded its narrative. With the third film, the franchise is expected to explore another crucial chapter in Georgekutty’s life before bringing the story to a close. Apart from Mohanlal, the film features Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sarath, Murali Gopi and Siddique, among others, reprising their roles.
On the work front, Mohanlal is currently shooting for L366, directed by Tharun Moorthy, in which he plays a police officer named TS Lovelajan. He will also appear in the Mammootty-starrer Patriot, scheduled for release on April 23, 2026.
