UP Police registers first FIR under new anti-conversion law in Bareilly

The Uttar Pradesh Police registered the first FIR under the Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Ordinance in Bareilly on Saturday.

The alleged victim's family has pressed charges against accused Uvaish Ahmed under Sections 3 and 5 of the law for allegedly pressurising their daughter to convert.

Meanwhile, the accused is currently absconding and police have launched a hunt to nab him.
