Supreme Court slams Centre and Assam for not deporting people declared as foreigners

The Supreme Court criticised the Assam government and the Centre for indefinitely detaining declared foreigners instead of deporting them. Questioning the delay, the court asked if authorities were waiting for a "mahurat" and ordered the deportation of 63 detainees within two weeks.
