Sonia's dinner diplomacy; BJP's parliamentary party meeting today; more

With the intent to forge an anti-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) grand alliance, United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi will host a dinner tonight for the Opposition parties in her residence at 10, Janpath. Leaders of around 17 Opposition parties are expected to reach the former Congress President's house tonight. The meeting has significance as it is a move by the Congress to reach out to 'like-minded' parties and try to stitch a grand alliance before the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

With the parliamentary logjam unlikely to end, Prime Miniter Narendra Modi will today address the Parliamentary party meeting ahead of the session. The allies of BJP feel that the party has been acting like Big Brother for too long. TDP is the first party to have walked out the NDA government.
