The first session of India Today Group's day-long event, 'Sangam - Confluence of Minds', offered perspectives on its historical significance and origin of Kumbh -- the divine event.
The session 'The What, When and Where of Kumbh' saw four speakers offer insights into how the Kumbh came into existence and various other aspects surrounding the glorious history of the mela, which is considered the largest human gathering on Earth.
Speakers Bharat Gupta, member trustee of Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts; Santosh Kumar Shukla, associate professor at the School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University; Dr DP Dubey, author of Praygraj: The Site of Kumbha Mela and Dr Ram Nath Jha, associate professor, School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University shared their respective theories and views on the origination of Kumbh.
