If Rajinikath were a politician, what would one of his rallies look like? Last evening, for the first time, the world got a little glimpse.
No, the 'Superstar' hasn't announced his political debut. But thousands of Rajinikanth fans descended upon the Ulavar Sandhai in Tamil Nadu's Trichy on Sunday to persuade the Kollywood star to take the plunge.
Rajinikanth is one of India's most commercially successful actors, and enjoys demi-god status in Tamil Nadu. In May, he sparked a frenzy of speculation when he told fans he would consider taking the political plunge if it was "God's will." He later said he was "yet to take a decision" and that he would inform the press once he did.
