Prashant Kishor observes 'maun vrat' at Patna's Gandhi Ashram after poll debacle

Prashant Kishor, after his Jan Suraaj Party’s poor performance in the recent Bihar Assembly elections, observed a day-long silent fast at Mahatma Gandhi’s historic Bhitiharwa Ashram in West Champaran. The political strategist–turned–activist paid floral tributes to Gandhi before beginning his “maun upvaas.” Kishor, who deeply admires the Mahatma, had launched his 3,500 km “pada yatra” from the same site three years ago, a journey that eventually led to the formation of the Jan Suraaj Party. He was accompanied by key party members, including state unit chief Manoj Bharti.
