BJP MP Parvesh Verma stirred up a controversy with his remark on Shaheen Bagh. He said, "Lakhs of people gather there (Shaheen Bagh. People of Delhi will have to think and make a decision. They will enter your houses, rape your sisters and daughters, kill them. There's time today, Modi ji & Amit Shah won't come to save you tomorrow." He also said if the BJP is voted to power, Shaheen Bagh will be cleared in one hour. He said, "If we come to power, we will clear Shaheen Bagh in onehour."
