Opposition slams UP govt for 'undemocratic' draft population control bill

On World Population Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiled the state's new population policy, which, among other guidelines, proposes to ban people with more than two children from contesting local body elections. The draft bill also promises perks to families with two children.

The move, however, has been met with censure from opposition parties. BSP leader Sudhindra Bhadauria said the bill was brought in ahead of the UP assembly elections to sow discord. Watch the video for more details.
