Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar scotched speculation of a rift in the ruling Mahayuti alliance, stressing that he would contest the Maharashtra polls as part of the coalition.
Speaking at India Today's Mumbai Conclave, Pawar said his priority was to make the Mahayuti return to power. Shedding light on the seat-sharing formula, Pawar said it would be based on the seats won by each party in the 2019 polls. He also spoke on his ambition of becoming the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, but said he could not move beyond the Deputy Chief Minister's post.
