Muzaffarpur SKMCH hospital death toll reaches 109, senior doctor suspended for negligence

A senior resident doctor in Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH), Dr Bhimsen Kumar, has been suspended for negligence of duty after 109 of the 129 children admitted in the hospital with acute encephalitis syndrome (AES) died due to lack of treatment. Brain fever caused by AES among children has claimed over 145 lives in Bihar.
