Monsoon mayhem: Multiple deaths, widespread destruction in Northeast India

Relentless monsoon rains have triggered widespread landslides and flash floods across Northeast India, resulting in multiple fatalities. The states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, and Sikkim are severely affected. Thousands have been impacted in Assam, with the Brahmaputra river crossing the danger mark in Dibrugarh. In Manipur, continuous rainfall has damaged hundreds of houses, while in Arunachal Pradesh, flash floods have claimed lives and destroyed infrastructure. The Indian Army and Assam Rifles have launched Operation Jal Rahat 2 in response to the severe flooding.
