Mission 2019: What impact will northeast results have on Lok Sabha elections?

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all cheers after it consolidated its prominence in Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland following the Assembly election results.

While it was a clean sweep for the BJP in Tripura, it is likely to form coalition governments in Nagaland and Meghalaya.

In Meghalaya, BJP won two seats, Congress 21, and National Peoples Party (NPP) bagged 19. While the BJP and NPP are under the NDA in the Centre, in all likelihood BJP may tie up with the NPP and other local parties to topple the tally of Congress.
