Loni assault case: SP leader Ummed Pahalwan Idrisi arrested in Delhi

A team of Ghaziabad police on Saturday arrested the Samajwadi Party leader Ummed Pahalwan Idrisi in Delhi in connection with the Loni assault case. Searches were underway for Ummed Pahalwan in Ghaziabad who was booked by police in connection with the circulation of a “communal” video related to the assault on an elderly Muslim man.

The case against Idrisi was lodged a day after the Ghaziabad police booked Twitter, a news website, some journalists and opposition Congress politicians in a separate FIR over circulation of the video in which the elderly Muslim claimed attack by some young men who allegedly "forced" him to chant "Jai Shri Ram".
