Kerala: Thrissur Pooram festival gets government's nod for fireworks display

Kerala's Central Explosives Department has given a go ahead for using explosives during Thrissur Pooram festival. The consent given is however conditional in nature.

 

The permission will allow the traditional festival to go ahead with full vigour.

 

A committee was constituted to frame guidelines following Puttingal temple fire tragedy in April last year, where more than 100 people were killed.
